The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Greetings as yet another Academic Year comes to a close – the Class of 2015 are about to join the exclusive ranks of our Society.

In a double Old Boy venture, David Flannery (1988) of Scott Tallon & Walker Architects and Stephen Walsh (1988) client and owner of Keeper House are looking for your vote in the Irish Architecture Public Choice Awards – www.irisharchitectureawards.ie/public-choice. Deadline is 17th June.

Also looking for your vote in Olympian Arthur Lanigan-O’Keeffe (2010) for the chance to become a Nissan Ambassador. To vote for him go to: https://www.nissangenerationnext.ie/candidates/all

VOTE NOW and VOTE OFTEN – you can have a positive influence the outcome of both of these polls.

On a more sombre note many of you will already be aware of the recent death of Christopher “Tiffer” Morris (2004) due to carbon monoxide poisoning whilst in South America. Our thoughts are with his brother Jamie (2002) and his family at this time. The funeral will take place on Wednesday 17th June at 2pm at Holy Trinity Church of Ireland, Fethard, Co Tipperary. House Private Please.

Please remember also Tom Roche-Garland (1955-59) RIP – father of Mark (1995) and Richard (1991)

Also Br Timothy “Eddie” McGrath (1964) is critically ill in hospital – please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

There have been a number of recent weddings & engagements – congratulations to all involved and may happy years together. Those for which I have the names are:

  • Stephen Roche (2002) married Kim Ridgway
  • Rupert McCann (2000) married Adam Hitchcock
  • Matt Nagle (2005)  married Annemarie Fogarty
  • Eoin Corry (2005) married Olivia Ward
